What is Altitude Training?

Athletes and individuals who wish to gain a competitive edge for endurance can take advantage of exercising at high altitude. When training at High Altitude (HYPOXIA) air molecules are thinner, making oxygen absorption more difficult.
As a result the body will adapt by increasing the amount of red blood cells & oxygen carrying capacity to working muscles for enhanced performance.

Altitude Fitness Room

Exercising under these conditions will trigger the onset of a range of physiological adaptations geared towards enhancing the efficiency of the body’s respiratory, cardiovascular and oxygen utilisation systems. A 30-minute Altitude training session is equivalent to an hour at sea level, making it the most time efficient training available!

The most significant results in performance come from properly integrating Altitude training programs, with individual monitoring and progression assessments. Simulated Altitude training enhances muscle endurance, muscle mass increases power and performance output , improves cardiovascular V02 Max, boosts Metabolism & burns calories up to 12 hours post workout.

Key Benefits

  • Decrease Resting Heart Rate & Blood Pressure

  • Increase Cardiovascular aerobic capacity

  • Up to 25% more efficient workout than at sea-level

  • Up to 25% increase of repeat efforts

  • 3 times the amount of calories burned due to continued burn post workout

  • Improved sleep and stress management

  • Boosts Metabolism

  • Reduced recovery time

  • Time efficient

Athletes

Athletes of all levels have proven to obtain significant fitness, endurance and performance gains from including Altitude Training in their preparation. Typically Performance & Endurance Athletes (Marathon, Running, Road Cycling, Swimming, Triathlon, Ironman), Team Sports (Football, Rugby, Soccer, Basketball)

General Fitness

For the general population this training is extremely beneficial in cutting the overall workout time in half, boosting your metabolism and education in using a range of cardio & resistance equipment whilst performing low impact full body functional movements. Studies have also shown that altitude training may be of a great health advantage to those who suffer from type 2 diabetes.

Weight Management

The low-oxygen environment of high Altitude will assist in a higher calorie burn during and post workout. Altitude training will boost Metabolism & burns calories up to 12hrs post workout.
